ONE WEEK AGO TODAY
It boggles my mind to think that one week ago today, Lauren and I were playing in the backyard just a few hours before we came to Children's Hospital. She was laughing and smiling, sitting in the sun and watching the dog. Three hours later, her heart stopped. It is hard to accept that she was actually sicker playing in the backyard than she is now covered in tubes in her hospital bed. Her road to recovery is still very long. She still needs to be covered in prayer over the next few days to ensure that her left lung opens up again and that she is able to void all of the fluid. I know that one day soon we will get to hear our little girl laugh again.

LOVE this, Amanda! Thank you for sharing it. B
ReplyDeleteOh Amanda.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the Apple store in London and thought I would pick up some emails on my phone. I've spent the last 30 minutes reading your harrowing horrible week.
Thank you for including me in this news, as tough as it is.
I am hoping and wishing and thinking for you and all your family and especially for your little baby.
Love from far away,
Ray.
Hi Amanda,
ReplyDeleteI was your nurse in the emergency department the day that Lauren's heart stopped. I have been thinking about you all constantly since that day wondering how Lauren was doing. It just so happens that through a friend of a friend I was told you had a blog. Reading your story and how well Lauren is now doing makes me feel so incredibly happy. She is one amazingly strong little girl. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you that she continues to make a fantastic recovery!
Take care, Lindsay.
